The rally weekend started with a low-key meet & greet on Friday night at The Homestead, a local bar popular with SF scooterists that also serves as the San Francisco Scooter Girls’ weekly meeting location. People came out to socialize with friends and pick up rally packs that contained tons of goodies, including the rally patch and a giant bar of chocolate from Scharffen Berger.
Saturday began with a full hot breakfast that approximately 100 people stopped by to enjoy before the first rally ride of the weekend. The morning ride explored several sights the city has to offer, including some of the more residential areas that tourists don’t always see, before ending at San Francisco Scooter Centre ("SFSC"). There, people socialized some more and anyone that missed breakfast was able to fill up on some great snacks and deli sandwiches. The guys from Corazzo were also on-hand to introduce their new Ladies’ Speedway riding jacket to the world!
After leaving SFSC, riders scooted around town playing a scavenger hunt-type game and were able to enjoy the city at their own pace. As if nice weather and a lovely city weren’t enough of a reason to get out and around, each player was doing so for a chance to win a Honda Spree, affectionately dubbed "the Killing Spree." Riders later regrouped for an evening ride that ended at a private party complete with scooter trivia and local DJs.
On Sunday morning, riders met at a local coffee house for the final rally ride of the weekend that ended at the D-Store (Dainese) for a BBQ and raffle. Rally-goers got a chance to see the raffle’s grand prize, a Vespa ET4 custom-painted blue by Bulletproof Scooters/Vespa Santa Maria, before buying as many raffle tickets as they could. In the end, 2 lucky people ended up with new scooters!
