One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do is to write this letter to you, my Biker Ally Family. I guess the best thing to do is to just come out and say it…Biker Ally Magazine has ceased its operation. The reason is pretty simple…it’s just not financially possible to continue. The magazine has finally met its match with the economic times we are all facing. Magazines just cannot function without advertising, as subscriptions just don’t pay to cover the costs and I just cannot get the advertising that is needed. I thought that the Harley-Davidson ad would have inspired the other manufacturers, but that wasn’t the case. Recently, Harley-Davidson decided to pull their ad (and much needed revenue). Additionally, the subscription numbers have been decreased by almost 75 percent.
Taking all of this into consideration, I had to make this decision to cease operations. I have poured my life into this publication as well as my own personal savings. I have not received one cent for my efforts and have only produced the magazine out of love. To say that I feel like I have lost a limb is putting it mildly as this magazine was so much a part of my life.
I have met a lot of wonderful people over the years and value all of the relationships that have developed through Biker Ally. I hope you understand why I’ve had to discontinue. I truly appreciate the support that you have given Biker Ally and thank you for that. So with my heart on my sleeve I have to say goodbye…it was a great run.
